About Us

Who we are: Freedom Run Farm Sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)3 that was built from a dream that every life deserves to live free from harm and exploitation. We rescue abused and neglected farm animals and provide a safe and forever home to those in our care.

How we started: When Dom and Ren learned about the horrific ways that farm animals were kept and treated, we went vegan and decided that one day we'd like to do more to help, and founded this sanctuary in 2020 after purchasing our first home as a married couple. This 5 acres property was originally used as a dairy farm, but all of the barns had since burnt down, the fencing neglected, and a section of the property was totally unusable due to the barn wreckage being left. As is happens, fate was not going to let us get settled long enough to get things in order prior to officially forming our sanctuary, and we took in our first rescue, Rex, a rooster who was brought to us by compassionate people who wanted him to live out his days at a sanctuary. We are now home to 3 roosters, several hens, sheep, pigs, barn cats, and the occasional wildlife who wonder through our property, and occasionally foster emergency cases when we can.

Where we're going: We have lots of work ahead of us with infrastructure and set up for different animal species, but we will continue to build and rescue whoever we can, when we can. Our goal over time is to fence in our entire property and create separate sections for different rescues, and cater to their wants and needs within those pastures. With that comes new barns, quarantine areas, and enrichment equipment. Although we'd love to rescue every animal, we must ensure the safety and wellbeing of those currently in our care and not grow beyond our means. We're excited to build up our sanctuary over time and continue to educate about compassionate care for farm animals, and hope that you all can join us on this journey.
